Yatra to Tiruvannamalai - Satsang at Panchamukhi Vinayagar Temple on 30th Nov 2009

“We have all arrived at the Lotus Feet of Shri Arunachala through His Grace. Arunachala is the personification of pristine purity. We may try and succeed in visiting many other pilgrimage centres, but unless we get the call of Arunachala, we can never come to Tiruvannamalai. Many of you have come here for the first time. You may think that you were able to get leave and therefore made the decision to come on this yatra to Tiruvannamalai. No, you are here only because He called you. Many Siddhas or Enlightened Beings have made Tiruvannamalai their abode after getting this call from Arunachala. From here they are constantly channalizing their Grace and knowledge to all beings. It is because of their Grace that we get the motivation to perform any kind of aradhana or sadhana. Otherwise human beings have very little jnana or knowledge. Jnana comes very slowly to us. Without their Grace to make our Atma Jyoti or Light of the Soul burn brightly, we would be like spineless, boneless worms that perish in the sun. Each Siddha is a limitless ocean surging with the water of bliss or ananda. Even an ocean has the limitations of its shores, but the infinite ocean of their Grace is boundless. Their love transcends all barriers and encompasses all beings.”

“The body is finite and mortal. It will go back to the elements one day, but the Soul is eternal and immortal. Even when these Siddhas discard their bodies, their spiritual legacy and love will be inscribed on the hearts of human beings forever. When we get the great blessing of having the Darshan of such Great Beings, we may feel that their language, customs and habits set them apart from one another, but they are all throbbing with the same Guru Shakti. Like a gigantic banyan tree that gives its shade to many in the wilderness, each Siddha offers protection and refuge to millions of Souls. They are the crowning glory of Dharma or righteousness. They are role models and examples for all of us to follow. In temples we see God in the form of stone deities. However, Siddhas are not deities, they are walking Gods on Earth. While we are here, let us offer our reverent salutations to them for their silent Grace and Guidance that encompasses every facet of our lives. Let us consecrate and establish them in our hearts forever.”

“If we only had the awareness to recognise it, our life is full of miracles wrought by divine Grace. Even a new thought that enters your mind and fills you with extraordinary energy is a miracle. Such a thought will bring forth an extraordinary idea and action from you. If your love for others increases by just 1%, that is also a miracle. You can show so much extra care with that 1% of love. When your heart is true, your love is true and you get only selfless and noble thoughts. Such noble thoughts will lead to noble actions. The person for whom you perform these actions will experience a miracle of love through you. So you become a miraculous being for them.”

“May the Grace of Lord Arunachala and all the Siddhas who live here transform you into such a miraculous being. Arunachala creates circumstances for you to change from an ordinary being into an extraordinary being. This is the beauty of Arunachala. He shows you a miracle by making you divine. You will understand this gradually through your own experience even if you do not understand it today. Starting from now, He will reveal something extraordinary to you everyday. This is what you should observe with great awareness. On every visit I see, feel and experience a miracle. This is My personal experience over all these years. Arunachala is not a God; He is a great transforming Energy. Most of us will be unable to sustain the energy of God, but with Arunachala it is different. We can enclose His Energy in our hearts so easily.”

“I will give you a small example to help you to understand this. When a really huge fire is blazing, you cannot go very close to it because of its scorching heat. However, if you take a photograph of the fire and blow it up to the same size, you will only see the light, but you cannot feel the heat. You can even go up very close and touch it. So also with Arunachala - we can very easily open ourselves to receive His Grace, Light and Energy. It lifts us effortlessly and fills us with bliss. This is what our minds experience as soon as we see Arunachala. Such is His greatness and power.”

“Right now there are 600,000 devotees circumambulating Arunachala. Later on in the night there will be many more. Around 2 million devotees are expected to converge here for the Bharani Deepam which will be lit tomorrow evening. Tonight nobody will sleep in Tiruvannamalai. Arunachala not only activates everybody, He also opens our spiritual eye. We have been asleep for eons. Now it is time for all of us to wake up.”

“Arunachala is not a hill. It is Lord Shiva Himself. He is waiting with outstretched arms to embrace millions of devotees who come from far and near seeking His Grace and Guidance. He has called all of us here to enlighten us. His Light and Knowledge await us. So whenever we are in the precincts of Holy Arunachala, we should always make it a point to meditate. This is our Atma Dharma, our primary spiritual responsibility as seekers on the path of Truth. We should all chant His name and meditate upon Him. Only then will His Grace flow to us. Now let us close our eyes and soak in His divine vibrations as we first chant ‘Om’ and then His holy mantra – “Om Arunachalaya Namaha……………….”

“May His Grace always encompass all of you. May the Siddhas of Arunachala always walk with you. May all Siddhas, Sages and Saints be happy. May the whole world be happy. May all beings be happy.

Jai Matha. Hari Om Tat Sat.”
