Porcelain Veneers

Have you ever felt self-conscious about your smile during group photos or when meeting someone for the first time? If so, you owe it to yourself to ask our Grand Rapids dentist about porcelain veneers. Dental veneers work by hiding tooth cracks, chips, discoloration, and other cosmetic issues.

dental veneer is a small porcelain shell that matches the color of your natural tooth enamel.

This shell is then applied to the front surface of your tooth so you can enjoy a radiant smile. While the entire dental veneers treatment usually takes two visits, our cosmetic dentistry uses CEREC® technology to get it done in one appointment.

During your appointment, our Grand Rapids cosmetic dentist will remove the top layer of tooth enamel (about 1/2 millimeter) to make room for the porcelain veneer. Otherwise, the dental veneer will look bulky and unnatural on the surface of your tooth. After the receiving tooth has been prepared, our dentist will use CEREC to take digital dental impressions.

Our cosmetic dentist uses special software to design your new dental veneer right in front of your eyes. The milling unit in our office is then used to create the dental restoration within a matter of minutes. Our dentist will check that the color and fit of the porcelain veneer is perfect before taking steps to bond it to the front surface of the receiving tooth.

Dr. Ritzema DDS at Complete Health Dentistry strives to help patients feel confident with restored smiles through complete dental treatments and services. If you are interested in learning if you are a candidate for dental veneer treatments, call our Grand Rapids veneer dentist at (616) 458-7267.
